MedLasers is proud to introduce laser skin resurfacing utilizing the VENUS-i ™ ERBIUM:YAG Laser from LASERSCOPE™.

Laser skin resurfacing is the latest advance for the treatment of aging and sun-damaged skin. The Erbium laser utilized in this revolutionary procedure provides a safer, more accurate, and less painful method of restoring smooth, softer, and more youthful appearing skin, without the downtime associated with previous Laser Peel lasers. The procedure is performed at our Academy Park location and takes no longer than 30 minutes.
laser skin resurfacing is specifically designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face. It is also beneficial in treating sebaceous hyperplasia and acne scars.

How does the laser work?

The laser energy is absorbed by water and because the skin contains 70% water, the laser beam actually vaporizes the top layer of skin or the epidermis, removing skin inconsistencies, such as discoloration, shallow lines, and scarring. When new epidermis regenerates, the effect is a smoother and tighter surface.

What kind of conditions can be treated with laser skin resurfacing?

Many facial conditions such as fine wrinkling around the eyes, forehead, nose, and mouth can be smoothed with this simple process. Deep laugh and frown lines can be reduced, and even the lingering effects of chicken pox, acne scars, and sebaceous hyperplasia can be successfully treated.

What results can you expect?

Your skin will be exfoliated layer by layer over a six treatment process, each, one month apart. This enables new skin growth, which is younger and fresher in appearance. With proper skin care and products, your new appearance can be realized with no downtime between treatments.

Does the treatment hurt?

Unlike previous laser Laser Peel techniques, there is minimal discomfort associated with the procedure. If you are uncomfortable, an anesthetic cream can be applied prior to the treatment. Most patients feel a "rubber band snapping" sensation and have little discomfort.

What should I expect after laser skin resurfacing?

Immediately after the procedure, your skin will pinken and swell slightly. Within 24 hours you can return to your normal skin routine. A moisturizing lotion is applied after the procedure along with sunscreen containing both UVA and UVB protectants. Makeup may be applied within 24 hours.
